This book presents two articles Where Design is Going, and How to be There by Cheryl Heller and Design Solutions by Randall Bruder. The articles deal with the role of the designer; as a translator, a generalist, a problem solver. The reader is asked to consider a problem in their everyday life and write in the book. Later, an envelope among the pages invites the reader to tear out the problem they wrote down and mail it to a designer to beginning the problem solving communication.
